The first open beta version of my first game Potato Boy Survival has now launched!
This game is currently being made using Python and the Turtle library. All code and art were made by yours truly.
The original version of this game was the final project for my AP Computer Science A course in high school and I decided that I wanted to make this into a full game, although I'm not great with any GUI libraries for Java. This is the reason as to why I decided to remake the game from the ground up using a coding language I am much more comfortable with, Python.
So far, these are the features I have added:
- Move Potato Boy using WASD and the arrow keys
- Try to avoid the Carrots. Each time you get hit, you lose one of your 3 lives. It's game over after you run out of lives
- [New in the Python Version] Hearts turn black when damaged instead of disappearing
Laundry List For Version 0.2 and beyond:
- Fix hitboxes to be more accurate
- Make multiple (and hopefully better) sprites for each character for "Animation" purposes
- Add timer to keep track of survival time
